Group 28 from the Faculty of Law at YARSI University conducted a Community Service Program (KKN) from November 2, 2023, to December 20, 2023, under the theme “The Importance of Implementing Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) for the Welfare of Residents in North Rawa Badak Sub-district.” This KKN program is a manifestation of student community service, aiming to address the issue of low PHBS implementation in North Rawa Badak Sub-district, particularly among mothers with stunted toddlers.
The program was designed to increase the knowledge and awareness of residents, especially mothers with stunted toddlers, about the importance of implementing PHBS. Through this initiative, the KKN group sought to foster healthier behavioral changes in the community. The activities included counseling on PHBS for mothers with stunted toddlers, a Healthy Toddler competition to motivate families to maintain their children’s health, and socialization about the provision of septic tanks to improve environmental sanitation.
The results of this program show a significant increase in the community’s knowledge and awareness of PHBS. The residents’ participation in these activities was enthusiastic, demonstrating their interest and commitment to improving community health. Additionally, there are concrete plans for the installation of septic tanks in several strategic locations in North Rawa Badak Sub-district. Overall, this KKN activity successfully increased the implementation of PHBS in the community, contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 on Good Health and Well-being, and strengthening efforts to improve the quality of life for the local population.
