In November-December 2023, YARSI University students from group 13 conducted a Community Service Program (KKN) at a local elementary school, focusing on a range of critical issues for young students. The program included several topics: savings habits for children, fostering a love for reading, preventing bullying, early childhood reproductive health, oral hygiene, and the dangers of excessive gadget use on mental health. These activities align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, by addressing both educational and health needs of elementary school children.
The activity aimed to provide practical knowledge and tools to enhance students’ financial literacy, reading interests, and understanding of personal health and safety. By focusing on these areas, the program helped to promote better mental and physical health among children, as well as foster a positive and supportive school environment. The initiative successfully engaged the students, who were enthusiastic about the new information and found the sessions both informative and actionable.
Through this KKN project, YARSI University students not only applied their academic knowledge but also made a meaningful impact on the students’ well-being and educational development. This reflects the university’s commitment to advancing sustainable development and improving community health through proactive educational programs.
