At Universitas YARSI, student creativity is nurtured not just through academics but through activities that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being. In celebration of its 57th Dies Natalis (anniversary), the university organized the YARSI Award and Performance event, an exhibition of student talents that included traditional dance, qasidah performances, and singing, among other artistic expressions.
The Rector of Universitas YARSI, Prof. Dr. Fasli Jalal, emphasized the importance of holistic student development. He pointed out that during their time in higher education, students should not only excel academically but also develop their creative and social skills. “We work hard to build a balance between physical, spiritual, emotional, and social well-being here,” he stated during the event. Prof. Fasli, who has also served as the Deputy Minister of Education and Culture, highlighted that fostering these elements is essential for preparing students for life beyond the classroom.
Universitas YARSI actively supports students’ creative endeavors through various Student Activity Units (UKMs), of which there are currently 10. These units provide a platform for students to engage in extracurricular activities and foster their interests in different fields. The university also offers financial support for student-led activities to ensure they have the resources needed to succeed.
The YARSI Award and Performance served as a celebration of the students’ artistic achievements, giving them an opportunity to express themselves creatively. The event not only contributed to the university’s vibrant cultural environment but also positioned Universitas YARSI as a place that encourages well-rounded development, preparing students for both academic and extracurricular success. Through such initiatives, the university continues to support its students in competing at national and international levels.
