Universitas YARSI’s Faculty of Psychology (FPsi) has secured crucial support for international accreditation in 2023, showcasing the quality and global standards of YARSI’s Psychology program. This recognition aims to enhance the faculty’s potential for producing graduates who meet international standards and to open doors for collaborative opportunities with institutions globally.
Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, Dr. Miwa Patnani, S.Psi, M.Si, announced that the Bachelor of Psychology program has received facilitation from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology (Dirjen Diktiristek, Kemendikbudristek) for international accreditation via the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA). Dr. Miwa highlighted that international accreditation offers FPsi the chance to assess strengths and weaknesses, serving as a foundation for further program development.
Dr. Miwa shared that FPsi is thoroughly preparing by familiarizing itself with FIBAA’s standards and crafting a comprehensive self-evaluation report that genuinely reflects the faculty’s strengths. This process includes inviting reviewers to provide input, completing proposals to showcase FPsi’s readiness, and ensuring all team members are dedicated to meeting the program’s swift timelines.
The program’s journey toward international accreditation is a milestone. Dr. Miwa notes that this is a new experience for FPsi, requiring a robust commitment to maintaining education quality per FIBAA standards. FPsi is adapting to national and international changes to stay competitive.
For prospective students, Dr. Miwa advises prioritizing quality education and assessing the achievements and track records of the faculty members. FPsi has consistently demonstrated success, such as securing the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) grant twice and excelling in academic publications. The faculty also collaborates with institutions like VU University in the Netherlands and UNIMAS in Malaysia.
FPsi is distinguished by its focus on health psychology and its integration of Islamic values, offering graduates a unique edge. Since 2007, FPsi has produced high-achieving graduates and received numerous awards, including doctoral scholarships for nine lecturers across prestigious international universities.
