World Mental Health Day Celebration at Universitas YARSI: Prioritizing Mental Health in the Workplace

On October 10, 2024, Universitas YARSI commemorated World Mental Health Day with various engaging activities aimed at raising awareness about the importance of mental health. Under the theme set by WHO, “It is time to prioritize mental health in the workplace,” the event highlighted the significance of maintaining mental well-being, especially in work environments that are often sources of stress.

Several activities were held to enliven the event, including:

  1. Mood Tracker: Participants chose one of the four emotions—sadness, anger, happiness, and anxiety—that they had felt over the past week to reflect on their emotional state.
  2. Stress Scribe Session: A free writing session that helps participants express their feelings and alleviate stress.
  3. Affirmation Wall: A wall filled with encouraging words that participants could write on or read to support each other.
  4. Positive Affirmation & Reward Corner: A special corner offering rewards to participants engaging in positive affirmations to boost self-confidence and happiness.
  5. SDGs & Peer SDGs Promotion: Participants engaged in interactive games with prizes to learn about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how they can contribute, offering a fun and educational way to engage with global development priorities.

The event not only aimed to support individual mental health but also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), by emphasizing the importance of a mentally healthy workplace. This celebration is expected to be a concrete step in prioritizing mental health across various aspects of life, including education and the workplace.
