Prof. Dr. H. Nurul Huda, S.E., M.M., M.Si. led a community service initiative focusing on the implementation of wakaf crowdfunding as a means of empowering small and medium enterprises (UMKMs) in Tanjung Priok. Wakaf, an Islamic endowment concept, was adapted into a crowdfunding platform to provide financial assistance to UMKMs. The funds collected from donors are managed by a trustee and distributed to those in need.
This initiative not only provides financial aid but also fosters community involvement and awareness, strengthening social welfare and economic development during challenging times. The program aligns with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, promoting economic empowerment, and SDG 1: No Poverty, by reducing financial burdens on vulnerable UMKMs.
Through this collaboration, Universitas YARSI remains committed to supporting innovative approaches in wakaf management that are both Sharia-compliant and impactful for broader societal welfare.
