Universitas YARSI is committed to continuous learning, knowledge enhancement, and improving quality. Recently, the university’s Office of International Affairs invited top-tier speakers from the UK, Ireland, and Spain for a three-week series of lectures and seminars.
According to Dr. Fitri Arlinkasari, Head of the Office of International Affairs, the guest speakers brought a wealth of knowledge from their diverse academic backgrounds, reinforcing Universitas YARSI’s commitment to internationalization. This event is part of the university’s efforts to integrate global perspectives into its academic environment, support knowledge exchange, and expand its international network.
Dr. Arlinkasari highlighted that the aim of the event was to enrich the academic experience of students, faculty, and staff. The focus was on Continuous Professional Development, which helps enhance the quality of education and supports career growth.
The university aims to expand partnerships, facilitate student and faculty exchanges, and explore joint research projects with institutions in the countries of the guest speakers. Additionally, there is potential for collaboration on international professional programs and other global initiatives.
Prof. Sumantra Ray, Founding Chair of the NNEd Foundation, shared insights on leadership for young people from an academic perspective, emphasizing skills development. Gareth Presch discussed the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on global peace and prosperity, while Prof. Pere Juarez explored future leadership and aligning personal goals with organizational success.
Students, such as Afaq Zuhal Laili from the Faculty of Economics and Business, appreciated the interactive and inspiring nature of the seminars, noting how they felt encouraged to express themselves confidently. Laili and other students expressed that the event helped them gain valuable insights, especially in health innovation and career opportunities, inspiring them to pursue international careers.
