On Thursday, November 14, 2024, Universitas YARSI received a special invitation to attend the Kick-Off event for the Regional Action Plan (RAD) 2025-2029, organized by the Jakarta Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) at the City Hall Building, Central Jakarta. Representing Universitas YARSI, the Rector, Prof. dr. Fasli Jalal, Ph.D., accompanied by the SDGs team, Endang Fourianalistyawati, S.Psi., M.Psi., Ph.D., Head of the SDGs and Population Center, and Muhammad Faisal, a lecturer from the Faculty of Economics and Business, engaged in discussions on advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the regional level. This participation highlights Universitas YARSI’s active role in addressing population studies, economics, and sustainable development, reinforcing its position as a key partner in Jakarta’s sustainable development initiatives.
As one of the keynote speakers, Prof. dr. Fasli Jalal, Ph.D., delivered a presentation titled “The Role of Universities in Implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).” In his presentation, he highlighted the crucial role of universities as centers for education, research, and community service in achieving SDGs targets. He also emphasized that universities have the capacity to drive innovation, foster partnerships, and prepare future generations to address global challenges sustainably.
This activity is closely aligned with several SDGs, particularly:
- Goal 4: Quality Education – Universities play a vital role in improving the quality of education and preparing competent graduates to support sustainable development.
- Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals – By fostering collaboration between local governments, universities, and other sectors, the SDGs agenda can be implemented more effectively through a collaborative approach.
Through Universitas YARSI’s presence and scientific contributions, it is hoped that the university’s input will positively impact the implementation of RAD 2025-2029 in Jakarta.
