The 1st International Symposium and Workshop: “Medical Genetics Update: From Genomics to Clinic”

In celebration of its 57th Dies Natalis, Universitas YARSI is hosting the 1st International Symposium and Workshop: “Medical Genetics Update: From Genomics to Clinic” (ISMGU). This event will focus on advancing knowledge of medical genetics, covering the critical transition from genomic research to its clinical applications.

The symposium will bring together renowned experts from Egypt, Tunisia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, and South Korea, who will share the latest developments in the field of genetic medicine. The event is composed of a one-day workshop and a two-day symposium, providing an interactive and comprehensive learning experience for participants. This format offers both practical exposure and detailed discussions on genomic-based healthcare, making it a unique opportunity for attendees.

The discussions will delve into key aspects of genomics, including genetic sequencing, personalized medicine, and precision medicine. These advancements are shaping the future of individualized treatment, with a focus on tailoring healthcare strategies to a patient’s specific genetic profile. The symposium will cover a range of topics, including pharmacogenomics, targeted treatments, genetic counseling, and strategies for preventing hereditary cancers.

A major milestone of the event will be the establishment of the AfroAsia Medical Genetic Society (AAMGS). This society aims to promote collaboration between researchers, clinicians, and academics from Asia and Africa, addressing the specific genetic disease patterns found in these regions.

By organizing this symposium and workshop, Universitas YARSI reaffirms its dedication to advancing medical genetics and contributing to the global healthcare landscape. This event will not only benefit the medical community but also raise awareness and understanding of genomics among the general public.
