Universitas YARSI has made significant strides toward international recognition, having secured support from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology (Dirjen Diktiristek, Kemendikbudristek) in 2023 to facilitate international accreditation by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA). Four programs—Psychology, Law, Master of Notary Law (MKn), and Library and Information Science (PdSI)—have been selected to advance this journey toward academic excellence.
The initiative includes rigorous preparation by each program, with the PdSI Program spearheading efforts to strengthen its curriculum’s international orientation. This includes creating a comprehensive Self-Assessment Report, collaborating with task forces to ensure readiness, and preparing documentation in alignment with FIBAA standards. The target is to submit the necessary documentation by December 2023, demonstrating a commitment to meeting global educational benchmarks. PdSI has taken additional steps to emphasize its focus areas, including health information research, information technology-driven library management, and Islamic information sciences.
Indah Kurnianingsih, Head of PdSI, expressed that obtaining FIBAA accreditation will amplify PdSI’s global standing, fostering partnerships, expanding academic transfer options, and equipping students for international careers. She emphasized PdSI’s unique role as a pioneer in integrating technology with library science, preparing graduates for dynamic roles like System Librarians, Data Analysts, Records Managers, and Document Controllers.
As the university works to achieve these ambitious goals, all faculty, students, and alumni are invited to support this prestigious endeavor. Universitas YARSI also welcomes new students interested in joining PdSI, an innovative and esteemed program in Indonesian education.
