Kuliah Umum dan Penandatangan MoU Universitas YARSI dengan Perpustakaan Nasional RI

Dalam sepekan ini Program Studi Ilmu Perpustakaan Fakultas Teknologi Informasi Universitas YARSI Jakarta telah menyeleggarakan dua kali kuliah umum. Kuliah umum. Pertama berlangsung pada hari Jumat, 29 November 2019 dengan narasumber Profesor Dr.Roslina Othman dari International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) dengan Tema Open Data: Library & Archive Tranformation in Information Sosiety, bertempat di Auditorium Ar Rahiim Lt 12 Universitas YARSI dengan dihadiri oleh dosen, mahasiswa Prodi Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Prodi Teknik Informatika, tamu undangan, serta alumni. Acara dibuka oleh Wakil Rektor 2 Universitas YARSI, Dr. Tripanjiasih Susmiarsih, S.Si, M.Biomed, PA. Kuliah umum ini memaparkan konsep tentang data yang saat ini dituntut untuk dapat diakses terbuka agar dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat luas. Data terbuka (open data) dalam kaitannya dengan pemerintahan adalah salah satu upaya untuk mendukung transparansi dan akuntabilitas, serta mendorong partisipasi masyarakat. Peran perpustakaan dan Arsip sangat besar dalam kaitannya dengan open sains sehingga Perpustakaan dan Arsip harus bertransformasi untuk mendukung perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan.

Sementara itu kegiatan kuliah umum berikutnya pada hari Rabu, 4 Desember 2019 diberikan oleh Kepala Perpustakaan Nasional RI, Bapak Drs. Muhammad Syarif Bando, MM yang diawali dengan penandatanganan MoU antara Universitas YARSI dengan Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia, bertempat di Auditorum Al Quddus Lantai 12 Universitas YARSI. Rektor Universitas YARSI Prof.dr.Fasli Jalal Ph.D dalam sambutannya mengatakan bahwa merasa bersyukur Universitas YARSI dapat melakukan kerjasama dengan Perpustakaan Nasional dalam berbagai bidang seperti Pendidikan, Penelitian, Pengabdian, juga pemanfaatan sumber daya yang ada. Sedangkan Bapak Drs. Muhammad Syarif Bando, MM dalam kuliah umum dengan tema “Kesiapan Perpustakaan dalam Menghadapi Revolusi Industri 4.0” mengatakan bahwa perguruan tinggi harus mampu memberikan pembelajaran kepada mahasiswanya untuk mampu menghasilkan produk yang tidak lagi bergantung pada manusia dengan cara banyak membaca.

Secara umum ruang lingkup kesepahaman ini meliputi pengembangan sumber daya manusia dalam Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, katalog induk nasional dan repositori digital, pemanfaatan bersama sumber daya perpustakaan, pertemuan ilmiah, penghimpunan dan pelestarian karya cetak rekam, dan perluasan jejaring perpustakaan lingkup nasional dan internasional.
