Cure the Earth (CUTE): YARSI Students Lead Environmental Education and Waste Management in Cilincing

In December 2023, YARSI University students from group 38 implemented the Community Service Programme ‘Cure the Earth (CUTE)’ in Cilincing. The project focused on environmental health through educational sessions on hygiene, waste management, and hand hygiene. The students organized an education session for grade five students at SDN 02 Pagi, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a clean environment and proper waste disposal.

This initiative supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing, and SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, by promoting practices that improve environmental health and hygiene. This educational activity aims to instill clean living habits and waste management among children, contributing to a healthier community.

The project received enthusiastic participation from students and teachers at SDN 02 Pagi, effectively raising awareness about the impact of environmental hygiene on health. Through this KKN project, YARSI University students not only apply their academic knowledge but also make a significant impact on the environmental practices of the local community, reflecting the university’s commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility.
