In December 2023, YARSI University students from group 14 conducted a Community Service Program (KKN) in Tanjung Priok, focusing on stunting prevention and hygiene education for young children. The program included a stunting prevention activity for Dasa Wisma coordinators, educating them on the causes, prevention, and early detection of stunting. Additionally, students taught children at SPS Negeri Bale Bermain Tunas Bahari about oral hygiene and handwashing, aiming to prevent stunting linked to poor hygiene. They also conducted nutritional assessments to monitor the children’s health.
These activities support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. By addressing stunting and promoting hygiene, the students contributed to the well-being of the Tanjung Priok community.
This KKN project allowed YARSI University students to apply their academic knowledge while making a meaningful impact, demonstrating the university’s commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility.
