Bridging Tradition and Technology: YARSI’s Innovative Approach to Rural Development

In 2024, Yarsi University, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Endang Purwansih and her team, including Muhammad Furrahman and Basrowi, implemented a community service program funded by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education. The program aimed to enhance the performance of Village Community-Based Economy in Kadumane, Pandeglang, by collaborating with local micro-enterprises and Bom Desa. The Yarsi University team provided assistance in legal, management, and technological fields, and utilized artificial intelligence to build brands and market local products such as pandan mats and emping.

These efforts were intended to improve product competitiveness and expand market reach. Additionally, training on innovation and production techniques was provided to support product quality improvement. As a result of this program, improvements were seen in production quality, market reach expansion, and the launch of a web company profile and e-commerce platform for Bom Desa Kadumane. The village head expressed appreciation for the program and hoped for continued development and support from Yarsi University and Bina Bangsa University.

This activity supports SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. The initiative contributes to the creation of better jobs and economic growth by providing training, technological assistance, and market development to micro-enterprises. The improvement in product quality and expansion of market reach positively impacts the income of micro-enterprises in Kadumane, creating more decent job opportunities and contributing to local economic growth.
