The Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Network (APBioNet) is a non-profit organization with the mission for advancement of bioinformatics in the region. This year, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of YARSI University and also to promote bioinformatics in the region, YARSI University, APBioNet and Perdana University are going to collaboratively organize the first International Symposium of Bioinformatics (InSyB 2017). This symposium would be the second collaboration between Perdana University and YARSI University following the MoU signed on 8 January 2016, and the first with APBioNet.
This symposium aims to spread awareness and development of bioinformatics in Asia Pacific, especially South East Asia Region. And also to strengthen the relationship between Perdana University Center of Bioinformatics (PU-CBi), Asia Pacific Bioinformatics Network (APBioNet), and YARSI University. The InSyB 2017 will serve as an intermediate milestone in preparing YARSI University to bid and host the International Conference on Bioinformatics (InCoB) in the near future, to be held for the first time in Indonesia.
InSyB 2017 takes the theme of “Bioinformatics for Precision Medicine” and will include session on High Performance Computation (HPC) and Big Data Analysis.
Students (diploma, undergraduate, graduate)
Academics and researchers
Industry Partners and IT Professionals supporting Biologist
InSyB 2017 provides travel grants ranging from 150 to 250 USD. The following are eligible to apply for the grant :
Authors who submit a manuscript before the deadline and apply for the travel grant during the submission
The selection criteria will be decided by the organizing committee. Student authors will get higher priority
InSyB 2017 Letter Format for Travel Grants Application can be downloaded in here.
We welcome submissions that address the main symposium theme "Bioinformatics on Precise Medicine" with session on HPC and Big Data Analysis. The topic areas are :
The workshop will be held in conjunction with the conference. This event will provide an opportunity for the participants to learn about practical Bioinformatics tools and techniques through hands-on activities. The length of each workshop is 120 minutes and additional fees will be charged to the participant to attend the workshop.
