Recently, the Head of Legal Services and Human Rights (Kadiv Yankumham) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights DKI Jakarta, Maktub, S.H., M.H., visited Universitas YARSI’s Faculty of Law (FHUY) to review its innovative Legal Drafting Laboratory and discuss potential collaborations. Accompanied by Prof. Dr. Jurnalis Uddin, PAK (Chair of YARSI Foundation) and Dr. Muhammad Ryan Bakry, S.H., M.H. (Dean of FHUY), Maktub explored the lab’s facilities, which are uniquely designed to give students hands-on experience in legislative drafting according to international standards.
The lab, which offers multilingual teleconferencing and translation support, provides students with a professional environment for developing legislative documents. This immersive experience, rare among Indonesian universities, aims to prepare FHUY students to become competent legal drafters with a deep understanding of national regulatory processes. Maktub commended the lab for its role in advancing practical legal education and announced upcoming collaborations where Ministry experts will lead workshops at FHUY to involve students in legal drafting further.
Prof. Dr. Jurnalis noted the lab’s importance in helping students understand and contribute to Indonesia’s legal landscape. At the same time, Dr. Ryan Bakry highlighted that the lab reflects FHUY’s commitment to preparing future legal experts. This visit signals promising future partnerships between Universitas YARSI and the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to support the professional growth of Indonesia’s next generation of legal professionals.
