The Community Service Program (KKN) conducted by Group 43 from the Faculty of Information Technology at YARSI University has implemented a Pregnancy Class Program Focused on Anemia, which is a crucial initiative in the effort to combat anemia in pregnant women. Anemia, often caused by iron deficiency, is a significant health condition that can have serious impacts on the health of both mother and fetus. To address this issue, the program aims to increase awareness among pregnant women about the importance of regular health check-ups and iron supplement consumption. This program, implemented from October 24, 2023, to December 2023 at the Warakas Sub-district Health Center in North Jakarta, encompassed various activities, including educational classes for pregnant women, hemoglobin level checks, distribution of iron supplements, and health consultation sessions.
The evaluation results of this activity showed a significant improvement in pregnant women’s understanding of anemia and proper health practices. Moreover, the program successfully increased the frequency of prenatal check-ups and iron supplement consumption among participants. This success not only fulfilled the program’s objective of raising health awareness among pregnant women but also aligned with SDG target 3.8, which emphasizes the importance of universal health coverage and access to quality essential healthcare services.
