As part of their Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) program in Papanggo, YARSI University students of group 42 focused on improving local sanitation and promoting balanced nutrition among community members. The students conducted educational sessions on proper hygiene practices, such as handwashing and waste management, while also raising awareness about the importance of a balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and protein. These activities align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. The sanitation efforts aimed to prevent disease by encouraging clean environments, while the nutrition outreach focused on vulnerable groups, including children and pregnant women. This initiative supports SDG 2: Zero Hunger by promoting access to nutritious food and improving community health resilience.
The event was a success with a high level of community participation. The educational objectives on sanitation and fulfillment of balanced nutrition were achieved, and the community responded positively to this activity. The community not only gains new knowledge about sanitation and nutrition, but can also easily understand the material and apply it in their daily lives. This creates a positive change in the lifestyle and health of the local community. Through this KKN project, YARSI University students not only applied their academic knowledge but also contributed meaningfully to the development of local communities, reflecting the university’s commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility.
