Empowering Sunter Jaya: YARSI University Students Lead Community Activity on Nutrition, Drug Prevention, and Digital Marketing

In November-December 2023, YARSI University students from group 20 conducted a community service programme (KKN) in Sunter Jaya, focusing on several key areas that benefit the local community. The programme included educational activities on improving toddler nutrition to prevent stunting, raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse, and utilising social media for product marketing (digital marketing). These activities are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 2: Eradicate Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing, and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by addressing health, safety, and economic opportunities in the community.

This activity aims to provide practical solutions and knowledge to improve child nutrition, prevent drug abuse, and utilize digital marketing for local businesses. By focusing on these areas, the programme contributes to better health outcomes for children, raises awareness about drug abuse, and offers valuable skills for economic development through digital tools. The initiative was well received, with participants actively engaging in the sessions and applying the new information in their daily lives.

This KKN project allows YARSI University students to effectively apply their academic learning while making a significant impact on the Sunter Jaya community. The project highlights the university’s commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility, by encouraging healthier lifestyles, promoting safety, and supporting local economic growth through education and practical skills.
