Nurturing Growth: Education, Skills, and Economic Development in Sungai Bambu Sub-district

Sungai Bambu Sub-district in North Jakarta faces serious challenges related to limited education and low skill levels among its community members, which affect the development process and community welfare. To address these issues, the Community Service Program (KKN) implemented by Group 43 from the Faculty of Economics and Business at YARSI University aims to provide comprehensive education and training to improve the quality of life for local residents.

The program encompasses various initiatives, ranging from educating children about the importance of oral health habits, such as regular tooth brushing, to providing practical skills training that can enhance economic well-being. One of the main focuses is education on marketing strategies for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), designed to help increase sales of local products. Additionally, the program involves chili planting as part of efforts to improve food security and develop the local economy.

Through this series of activities, it is hoped that the community of Sungai Bambu Sub-district will acquire better skills, open up improved job opportunities, and achieve overall community empowerment. This initiative aligns with SDG Goal 8, which emphasizes the importance of decent work and sustainable economic growth.
