Based on the situational analysis conducted by Group 40 in Kebon Bawang Sub-district, various primary issues were identified, such as a lack of community awareness about health and environmental cleanliness. In response to these issues, Group 40 from the Faculty of Medicine at YARSI University designed and implemented a comprehensive Community Service Program (KKN). This program included several important activities designed to improve the quality of life and health awareness of the local community.
The main activities in this program included Posyandu for Toddlers and Pregnant Women, which provided routine health check-ups and nutrition education for mothers and children. SIGIBER (Brushing Teeth Together) focused on education and proper tooth brushing practices, aiming to improve oral health habits among children and adults. Additionally, the Sanitation program involved counseling and training on proper hand washing according to WHO guidelines to prevent communicable diseases. Jumat Berkah was a social initiative providing food packages for underprivileged families, striving to reduce social and economic disparities. Lastly, Environmental Conservation activities included community service to clean up the environment, enhancing cleanliness and maintaining environmental sustainability.
Each activity in this program has been evaluated and shown to have a significant positive impact on the community. Posyandu for Toddlers and Pregnant Women successfully improved understanding of nutrition and health, SIGIBER enhanced regular tooth brushing habits, and Sanitation promoted better hygiene practices. Jumat Berkah provided much-needed assistance to underprivileged communities, while Environmental Conservation improved the cleanliness of the environment. The program as a whole supports several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
