As part of their Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) program in Tanjung Priok, YARSI University students of Group 39 concentrated on promoting healthy behaviors and supporting local economic development. The students delivered educational sessions on preventing bullying among Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) children, offering practical solutions and examples to address and prevent such behavior. They also conducted workshops on Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS), emphasizing the importance of maintaining a clean environment, engaging in physical activity, and consuming a balanced diet. Additionally, the students provided training for local small and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM) on utilizing social media for business transactions and effective financial management.
These activities align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, by addressing bullying and promoting healthier lifestyles; SDG 4: Quality Education, by enhancing educational environments and behaviors; and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by supporting local businesses with digital and financial skills.
The project was highly successful, marked by active community engagement and positive feedback. The educational sessions on bullying and PHBS led to increased awareness and practical changes in behavior among children and adults alike. The training for UMKM contributed to the economic empowerment of local businesses. Through this KKN project, YARSI University students not only applied their academic knowledge but also made a significant impact on community development, reflecting the university’s commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility.
