In December 2023, YARSI University students from group 7 conducted their Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) program in Semper Barat, focusing on Dengue Fever prevention and environmental sustainability. The students collaborated with local Jumantik cadres for effective mosquito control, provided educational sessions on managing and preventing Dengue Fever, and collected plastic waste for recycling. This recycled plastic was repurposed as plant containers, and lavender plants, known for repelling mosquitoes, were distributed to local Jumantik cadres.
These activities support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. The program aimed to reduce Dengue Fever incidence and promote environmental sustainability through recycling and green practices.
The initiative saw high community participation and positive feedback, with residents actively engaging in health and environmental improvements. Through this KKN project, YARSI University students demonstrated their commitment to public health and sustainability, making a meaningful impact on Semper Barat’s well-being and environmental practices.
