SDG Talk

On Thursday, September 26, 2024, representatives from the SDGs at YARSI University attended an online seminar titled “SDG Talks: Quality Education and Innovation for Sustainable Economy.” The seminar featured three speakers who discussed the role of education in supporting sustainable development goals.

Yuniar Nugroho, Coordinator of the Expert Team at the National SDGs Secretariat of Bappenas, emphasized the importance of a green economy and sustainability, noting that these goals cannot be achieved overnight but require innovation and cross-sector collaboration. Hannah Al Rashid, an actress and gender equality activist, highlighted the significance of quality education from an early age, beginning at home, and the necessity of accessible education for all communities. Zensa Rahman from Pimpin.id discussed the role of young leaders in promoting sustainable living and the importance of innovative and environmentally-conscious leadership.

This seminar is relevant to various SDGs, including SDG 4 (Quality Education), which emphasizes the importance of inclusive and equitable education; SDG 5 (Gender Equality), which supports equal rights in education; SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), related to sustainable economic growth; as well as SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), which advocate for inclusive and accountable leadership.
