Fostering Resilience: How Social Relationships Enhance Mental Health, Climate Adaptation, and Food Security

As part of its ongoing efforts to address pressing global issues, YARSI University hosted an insightful session on mental health, climate change, and food security, featuring Dr. Amalia Madihie from the University of Malaysia-Sarawak. The presentation focused on the critical role of social relationships in fostering resilience amid these interconnected challenges. Dr. Madihie highlighted how strong social networks can enhance mental health, support adaptive strategies for climate change, and improve food security outcomes.

The event drew an international audience, with 13-20 participants from various countries, reflecting the global significance of the topic. This session directly aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 13: Climate Action, and SDG 2: Zero Hunger. By emphasizing the importance of social connections, the discussion provided valuable insights into how collaborative efforts and community support can address these critical issues effectively.
