Ramadan Nights, Peaceful Days: Tarawih’s Role in Mental Resilience

YARSI University make a video kultum titled “Sholat Tarawih dan Kesehatan Mental” held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at YARSI University, explored the relationship between Tarawih prayer and mental health. The kultum aimed to investigate how Tarawih prayer, an optional act of worship performed during Ramadan, has significant spiritual and emotional benefits. The speaker explained that Tarawih prayer not only strengthens one’s spiritual connection with Allah but also offers psychological benefits such as stress reduction and improved emotional well-being. The prayer’s movements and recitations, performed with concentration, serve as a form of meditation that helps calm the mind and alleviate anxiety.

By discussing how Tarawih prayer can function as a form of meditation and aid in calming the mind, the kultum contributes to understanding emotional well-being and techniques for managing anxiety, aligning with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being. Additionally, participating in congregational prayer enhances a sense of community and social support, reducing feelings of loneliness. The seminar also provided practical tips on maintaining consistency in worship and applying the spiritual benefits of Tarawih prayer to daily life.
